One Night with The King

I watched this movie recently with some friends last last weekend. I highly recommend it.

Thoughts on Pride

Been Reading this book by Beth Moore titled, " Praying God's Word, Breaking Free from Spiritual Strongholds". The latest chapter I read I found a really insightful poem on PRIDE.

"My name is Pride. I am a cheater. I cheat you of your God-given destiny...because you demand your own way.
I cheat you of contentment...because you 'deserve better than this'
I cheat you of knowledge...because you already know it all
I cheat you of healing...because you're too full of me to forgive.
I cheat you of holiness...because you refuse to admit when you're wrong
I cheat you of vision...because you'd rather look in the mirror than out of a window.
I cheat you of genuine friendship...because nobody's going to know the real you.
I cheat you of love...because real romance demands sacrifice.
I cheat you of greatness in heaven...because you refuse to wash another's feet on earth.
I cheat you of God's glory...because I convince you to seek your own
My name is Pride. I am a cheater.
You like me because you think I'm always looking out for you. Untrue.
God has so much for you, I admit, but don't worry...
If you stick with me, you'll never know."

I think pride is sometimes so deceitful, but there is also a fine balance between confidence & pride. When I read this poem, I think that there are certain parts that I can identify with and found it a good reminder to ask God to give me a humble heart and a humble spirit before Him.

Operation Blessing

This is my first week at my new job working as a television producer for Operation Blessing. It has been a fabulous week so far. I am excited to be a part of something where I am able to contribute to both locally and internationally to telling stories about how God is able to help people.

Exciting to be a part of it. I'm realizing more and more my weaknesses, and am reminded that I need to rely on God to carry me through.

Greg Laurie and Harvest Crusade

This weekend in San Jose there was a Greg Laurie Harvest Crusade event. I had a chance to watch it live via webcast. It was awesome to see so many people come out to attend an event like this. I had heard from a few friends in the Bay Area that they were going to volunteer with the event. But having had the chance to view it online, I also got to talk to my friend Lisa and my sister Lisa who both attended the event.

It was awesome.

San Diego Asian Film Festival

San Diego Asian Film Festival

The San Diego Asian Film Festival just started yesterday. The film festival is always such an amazing culmination of the hippest, hottest, and coolest, film happenings in the Asian American and Asian communities. San Diego is also such a warm and fun city. This year one of the music videos that I worked on is screening as part of their music video program.

MVP - MUSIC VIDEO PROGRAM
Running Time: 89 minutes
With 23 music videos spanning the US and abroad, this year'’s crop of music is led by an assault of Asian American hip hop and indie talent. Take a visual trip through the Asian underground, starting locally and expanding universally.

The music video, "FLY" by the group EFATA will be screening. This music video portrays "A young man tries to find inner peace by tearing away the dark things from his life."

I worked on this project as a videographer for the "making of / behind the scenes documentary" of the music video. This group is a local indie band in the Bay Area. My friend Jonathan directed the music video, shot on 35 mm. He is a film professor and pastor in the Bay Area. One of the highlights and funny moments working on this video had to be the many crawling creatures on set. We had live insects, in particular cockroaches that had to be handled by the crew members. One gal was named the "cockroach wrangler". Her job was to place the cockroach on the refrigerator right before every shot, but the cockroaches had a mind of their own. They didn't always want to pose and be pretty for every shot, but rather jump to the ground and give the crew a scare. But overall, I have thoroughly enjoyed working on this music video. It has continually inspired me that while we have things in our lives that are ugly, or are not always pleasing, much like the insects that come in unexpected places, or really what they seem, sometimes we just have to fly. This analogy of "Fly" is to trust that there is something higher that calls us to something deeper in this life. This band will also be playing at upcoming Hallowed Out Event, a Bay Area arts event with live music and videos, and the search for something more....
