Baptism, Hotties, & Friends

There are so many things that are going through my head at this moment as I blog away. First off, I have to say that I really enjoy writing. I am looking forward to getting through to the end of this entry. One of my co-workers wrote me and said she had just started blogging about her 4 week trip to South America. I am so excited about that.

This morning at church we had a worship service that included a handful of baptisms. It was just an amazing sight to see these lives professing their faith in Jesus in front of such a large crowd. There was something beautiful about that. My sis had a chance to visit church with me and also experience the testimonies of the lives that were transformed by God. Many family members and friends of the candidates were in attendance, I pray that the people that were there were touched by the love of Christ.

Today I heard a quote later in the Perspectives class I am taking on the World Christian Movement that I had to write down because I thought it was a most profound reminder.....

"May we embrace the purposes of God for our lives with unwavering commitment"

Purpose... Baptism.... Commitment... Faith... All words that float as reminders of God's revelation and our obedience to him.

Later this evening we celebrated my grandma's 86th birthday. I should post up some photos of that later on another entry. It was pretty fun. My grandma told us the story of how she went shopping today with my mother and two aunts. While they were in Chinatown shopping for outfits for the upcoming wedding, they thought to leave my grandmother in the car for a few minutes. My grandma regularly has a difficult time walking long periods of time, so since they were only planning to pop their head in to some boutiques, they thought it wouldn't be so long. When they went back to the car in five minutes, they found my grandmother completely hot in temperature and stripped down to her white t. (Which reminds me of a recent music video that I worked on "White T and Blue Jeans"). Later when my grandmother went home, my dad asked her why are you walking around with only your undershirt. He then asked my aunt, his sister the same question. "Where did you take mom with her only wearing an undershirt?" I think it was much funnnier when the story was told in Chinese....

Well, that was my reference to my grandmother being a hottie. Before dinner this evening, I had a chance to say grace in Chinglish. Since it was my grandmother's birthday, my prayer was that I really want for her to experience the love of Christ and the blessings of God in her life. My grandma is super cool.

Lastly... I can't sound off this entry without talking about friends. God has so blessed me beyond my imagination wtih the love and support of many, many friends. On Saturday, my friends threw me a surprise bridal shower... "Surprise!" It was such a delight to be among all these lovely, beautiful, joyful women. They all add so much flavor and love in my life...

Until next time.... dear friends.

I'm counting down twenty more days until the big day.
